The SSL Broadcast Equipment Demonstration Vehicle

The truck is currently fitted with a new System T S300-32 control surface and TCR (Tempest Control Rack) broadcast audio production systems.

System T is a state of the art broadcast audio production solution. It offers a selection of processors, control interfaces, and I/O in a fully networked AoIP infrastructure. System elements can be scaled and specified in different combinations to suit a wide range of applications.

The extraordinary power of System T in compact form
The S300 is the most powerful, versatile and user-friendly audio console in its class. It offers a compelling combination of extremely powerful features, hugely versatile installation options and outstanding value. S300 is a compact control surface that can be combined with the complete portfolio of SSL’s System T control, processing and I/O options. It can be specified as part of a larger System T installation or in stand-alone configurations for smaller broadcast facilities or OB vehicles. S300 comes in 2 versions: 16+1 faders and 32+1 faders (32+1 installed in truck). It can connect to either a T25 (256 paths @ 48kHz) or a T80 (800 paths @ 48kHz) Processor Engine and runs the same software as larger System T S500 consoles.

TCR - 3U of scalable broadcast power
The introduction of the Tempest Control Rack makes it possible to specify a powerful audio production system that does not include a traditional audio console. The combination of the Tempest Control Rack, a System T Processor Engine and SSL Network I/O delivers a system that is ideally suited to Production Automation driven facilities. System T is compatible with Ross, Grass Valley, Sony and Mosart Production Automation. TCR can also be configured as a fully flight cased ‘Flypack’ for remote audio production. The Tempest Control Rack (TCR) is a 3 RU enclosure with an optional retractable 15.6” touchscreen. TCR runs the complete System T control software so acts as a stand-alone control interface for a System T installation. It can be used rack mounted or in studio furniture and offers a complete set of connectivity options for network integration.

Additional Screen interfaces or Fader Tiles can be connected to a TCR unit to provide extended control. The System T software allows control over the entire console environment including routing, system configuration, audio processing and mixing. System T Fader Tiles can be furniture mounted or desktop units.

System T I/O is connected via a Dante or AES 67 network. A huge range of third party I/O devices can be used alongside SSL's own Network I/O interfaces. SSL Network I/O provides a complete range of devices offering mic/line analogue, MADI, AES and SDI embed/de-embed capability wherever it is required. System T Control Interfaces and SSL Dante Control Software offer remote control over SSL mic/line I/O across the network.
